School School School

So i've started my junior year of college! It's CRAZY. Time really does just fly by. I am going to be learning so many new things this semester that I am really excited for. I love baking and I am going to be able to expand this skill and get even better! I'm not saying i'm really good or anything but I love it.

I am also going to be able to learn how to sew. When we were little my mom sewed Halloween costumes for us, made us dresses, and really cool sleeping bags. I am ready to learn this new skill. It might take me a little while to really get it down but I'll be glad to have it under my belt.

On a different note, Trevor my sweet little eight year old brother very recently went through a traumatic experience. He was out riding horses with family and friends and ended up falling off when the horses decided not to cooperate. He was riding with one of his friends who is just a little younger than him. When they fell off his friend broke his two front teeth on Trevor's little head. They then rolled under the horse and we believe Trevor was kicked in the head. To make a long story short he ended up needing to be life flighted to Sacred Heart hospital in Spokane two hours from our home. My mom rode with him in the helicopter and the rest of my family (besides me because I'm stuck here in Rexburg) drove to the hospital. We found out that he had a concussion, along with a centimeter depression in his skull. There was a lot of prayer involved and the neurosurgeon told us that he was borderline needing surgery but he told us to decide. After a lot of praying we decided to go ahead with the surgery and it's a good thing we did. Trevor had bone from his skull that had scratched the lining of his brain and was pushing on it. The Lord definitely guided us in this decision. Trevor is doing much better now. After a week of being in the hospital on antibiotics he was able to come home. We have had many prayers answered because the damage could have been much worse. He's still the smart little boy that we all love. He goes back to have a check up in a month and he has to refrain from any physical activity besides walking for a couple of months. I love my little brother and we are really close. I'm so grateful for the power of prayer and priesthood blessings.

I love my family and am grateful for them. I am also grateful that I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

Home

I just love being home and I appreciate my family so much!

I'm home for the summer and it's great to hang out and mess around with each other. I am learning how to do some cake decorating this summer while I'm home. Also my mom was awesome and bought me a sewing machine today! Next semester I'm taking a bakery class and a clothing construction class and I want to be ahead of the game and be prepared when I get there so hopefully this practice during the summer will help.

PS: Elder Palmer (Chase) will be home in 10 months!

This semester

This semester has been going well. It's actually not to bad. I have 16 credits but I only have a few tough classes. This semester I am taking Culinary Fundamentals, Intro to Food Service Sanitation, Technique of Teaching Social Dance, New Testament (I love this class!), Ballet, and Intermediate Social Dance just for fun. I'm also taking my first online class, Natural Disasters. It's not too bad it's just different not going to classes or ever seeing your teacher.

I am really looking forward to learning more in my New Testament class. I really like Brother Sturm's way of teaching. He has taught me so much and it's only been about a month.

On Tuesday I am going to Hammer Elementary school to teach 4th graders etiquette, a couple ballroom dances and a line dance. I am so excited. I love kids and there aren't many around BYU-I that I get to be around. It kind of makes me miss my family. I love my family, we are all really close. My sisters and mom are my best friends. I talk to them about everything. My little brothers make life exciting. They are a handful but they're worth it. My parents are seriously great. I may have had stricter rules than other kids my age but I think they did a good job of raising me and I turned out okay. Good job mom and dad you are great.

Valentines Day is coming up. I am usually really creative and romantic but because my love is on his mission it's a little different. I can't get him much because he doesn't have much room to store things, and I don't want to make him love sick. I have gotten a few ideas and I am going to cut out hearts on pink and red paper and write scripture references on them that pertain to love. I am going to write on red paper my testimony and my thoughts on the atonement and reasons why I love the Savior. I will still write a letter to him expressing my love to him also but I think that he will appreciate the other things at this time in his life. Chase has always been really romantic. This is what he sent me last year.

I love him and he is doing a great job. I really do look up to him and appreciate that he is dedicating two years of his life to the Lord. It just lets me know how great of a man he is and I know that he is growing so much closer to the Lord. I want to meet this new man when he comes home. I know he could only have become better. I love you Elder Chase E. Nathaniel Palmer. I am proud of you.

Oh School

So school started back up last week. It's my fourth semester and it's been going by so fast! It is going to be a busy semester. Chase has been on his mission for nine months now and I am so proud of him. He loves his mission and i'm sure he is a great missionary. Three more months and he will be half way through his mission!! It seems to be going by quickly so he should be home in no time. Some days it's hard but I just remember all of the good times we've had together and how much we love each other and it makes everything better. I love my missionary!
